Trick or Treat

It's Halloween once again. Next to Christmas Day and the New Year's Eve, this is the day children look forward to. This is the only time of the year that they could dress up in costumes. You could be who you want to be. And candies are just everywhere. I'm sure my nephews and nieces would love trick or treating. Unfortunately, I don't think they've experienced it. In our hometown in Valenzuela, we don't celebrate Halloween. We don't dress up in costumes and knock on every door of the neighborhood and hope for bag of candies. Maybe, that's my goal next year. To organize and help my nephews and nieces and held a Halloween party for them. That would be fun. I'm sure they'll enjoy that.

Last October 13, 2007. We had our own Halloween Party @ F*Art Gallery. It was organized by Happy Andrada and the Motion Tribe. I originally planned to be in a Japanese schoolgirl outfit, but I didn't have the time to shop for clothes. So, I came as Lara Croft - Tomb raider instead. Because she's easier to imitate.

It was so much fun. Happy came as the Angel of Death. Myke as "Jason with the mask and the deadly knife". And Stormy's Joey and Tara went as dolls. And I won. Yipeee!!! There were 4 winners and that includes me. Well, at least my efforts paid off.

Tomorrow, we'll visit my grandparents' tomb at St. John Cemetery in Valenzuela. I haven't visited them in a long time, and I am very much guilty of that. We'll say a prayer silently for them and watch the candles slowly die. We'll bring them flowers they won't even see or smell. But that's the tradition. And we ought not to break that. We'll pass this tradition on to our children and grandchildren. and it's just the way things are. Happy Halloween to everyone!!!

Let us all take the time to remember and say a prayer for our loved ones who has passed away.
