Unequaled Attraction of Palawan, Philippines
This trip truly started 4 months ago. Cebu Pacific Airlines had a 3-day booking promo trip to Puerto Princesa. My friends and I just can't let go of this rare opportunity, so we grabbed it, not knowing if we'll be able to actually use it. Since there are a lot of things to consider, like taking a 3-day vacation leave, setting the budget, asking for our folks' permission, etc. As weeks and days passed by, some of us aren't still sure if they're gonna make it. But, it felt like GOD has planned this and everything just fell into place. Before we knew it, we're now on the plane, on our way to Palawan. And, we definitely, had a lot of fun. The 3-day vacation was so worth it. We're all definitely planning to go back there.
Here are some of the pictures taken during our stay. Enjoy the view, ladies and gentlemen. =)
Our first stop is at the Underground River (official nominee in the Worldwide 7 Wonders of nature), at Puerto Princesa. The tour inside the cave lasted for 45 minutes. What amazed me the most is the cathedral section where figures of the Virgin Mary, the Nativity, and the three kings are found. Another thing that really gave me goose-bumps was the figure of Jesus Christ's face.
We arrived at El Nido by 11:30pm. We were all tired and excited at the same time. The 6-hour drive from Puerto Princesa was tiring yet exciting for we don't know what to expect when we get to El Nido. We stayed at the Marina Garden Beach Resorts (marinagardenelnido.multiply.com).
On our first tour trip to El Nido, we went to the Small Lagoon. Kuya Angelo (the former-IT tour guide) taught me how to swim. Well yeah, I'm no swimmer, I'm not a sporty person, I don't even know how to ride a bike, haha. But I had a lotta fun, at least, I learned something. My next lesson is to loosen up and conquer my fear of the water. On our first night at El Nido, Johann took us to Balay Tubay. The place kinda reminded of Cafe Saguijo in Makati. The band played Reggae music. It was cool. Except for the waiting part, for we waited like 45 minutes for our food.
The second day tour was also a lot of fun. We went to the Secret Beach, Hidden Beach, Matinloc Island, Helicopter Island and a lot more. There, we snorkled, swam and kayaked till we can get enough of the beautiful paradise. Unfortunately, we still don't want to end the day because we'll be leaving soon. And we'll surely miss El Nido.
On our way back home to Manila, back to the busy city, the crowded and polluted place where we really belong to. We still can't believe we're going back home. We all hoped we could stay longer in Palawan. Nevertheless, we all had a blast. And the memories we spent there will always be treasured. We wish to go back, so EL NIDO, wait for our return!!!To My Palawan buds, "Tapos na ang panaginip, balik trabaho na!!! hahaha. Next year, Moalboal, Cebu naman tayo, ayt? =) "
